A Cappella Plus Retreat September 2018
Why we sing:
"Singing in a choir is a transcendent experience - and there aren't many of these in life. It instills gratitude and bliss. Singing doesn't just make us feel better - it makes us better people. By singing in a group, we pursue harmony with those around us."
~ Leah McLaren, Globe and Mail

A Cappella Plus- Now in its 36th season!
A Cappella Plus, under the directorship of Patricia Plumley, performs a wide variety of repertoire, from the sacred to the secular, early to modern, classical to jazz, and rock & roll to pop. The Plus in our name refers the occasional addition of accompaniment, as the need arises. This could be a pianist, a combo, or even a chamber orchestra. A Cappella Plus enjoys collaborating with other groups and accepts invitations to share their love of music whenever we can.
Performance highlights through the years have included participation in the International Choral Kathaumixw, the opening of the Shakespeare Plus Festival, the opening of the Port Theatre, (and its 10th anniversary), singing for the arrival of the Olympic Torch, and a performance on board "The World" residential luxury liner when it dropped anchor in Nanaimo Harbour. We have been honoured to collaborate with the Vancouver Island Symphony, Vancouver Welshmen's Choir, Larry NIckel's Jubilate! Choir, the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra and the Pat Coleman Trio. A Cappella Plus is a member of Nanaimo Sings!
